A Beautiful Sunday Morning

Recently I have become a little bit more adamant about the importance of regular church attendance. I think it is good for your spiritual and mental health. I also believe it has a great effect on the community that is often overlooked.

That being said…some mornings you just need some family today. Today was one of those days. We were all up and ready for church when we realized that we had hardly seen each other all week. We were longing for some time with each other so we decided to play hooky and head for the hills. We found a beautiful spot on the side of the mountain and just took some pictures and enjoyed each others company. It was the perfect “church” for us this morning.

Breaking in Our New Snowshoes

Courtney and I received snowshoes for christmas this year. Mine were from my brother and Courtney's from my mom. We didn't have a lot of time to go on a big adventure, but we just had to get up in the mountains and give them a try. Chataquah park near Boulder was the perfect spot to break them in. We honestly had a blast. These things are going to be so much fun. They let you explore places that you normally wouldn't be able to get to when there is snow on the ground. Plus it is a really fun way to get some good exercise. I am crazy sore already.

Thanks for the gifts guys. We are going to put them to great use.

Tom × Marissa: Lifestyle Portraits

This shoot was absolutely wonderful in so many ways. It was a beautiful day with a beautiful sunset, we got to spend the evening in Rocky Mountain National Park which is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful places on earth, we saw no fewer than 4 moose (one of them was chasing ducks in the lake), and most importantly, we got to spend the evening with Tom and Marissa.

We briefly knew Tom and Marissa in Florida but they moved shortly after to open their Chiropractic office in North Carolina. When they decided to travel to Colorado for a conference they contacted us and asked us to photograph them as a way to capture their time spent in the Rocky Mountains.

Sometimes after nights like this we almost feel weird letting people pay us. We had so much fun hanging out with this beautiful couple, it honestly felt more like a double date than a job. Tom and Marissa are so encouraging, so driven, so fun, and so in love. We love you guys and hope to see you again soon.
