Sunday at BLOOM we had a guest speaker named Pete Greig who gave this incredible talk about how our lives are almost never in a completely good or completely bad state. It seems like continually God is answering prayer and being visibly present, and at the same time very bad things can be happening. It is really confusing and hard to understand but that is a huge part of what being a Christian is. It is learning to live faithfully in the tension of the good and the bad.
His words hit us so hard because it is exactly what we have been trying to figure out in our life right now. We have our daughter on the way and couldn't be more excited about it and at the same time my grandpa is very sick and is probably nearing the end of his life. Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the world to live, but it is so expensive that we are having a hard time just making it here. There is more to it too, but you understand what I am saying, it is the most amazing joys mixed in with deep pain and struggle almost all of the time.
It's difficult. It's life in the paradox. We live in the kingdom of God and in a fallen world at the same time.
Here is some photos of what we have been up to recently. Most of it is the good, beautiful part of life, some if is the hard part, but its all life. I hope you have a great weekend!
