Adventuring on Sugarloaf Mountain

This post is coming a bit late, I'll preface with that. But about a month ago we decided to get up in the mountains for the day.

We needed a new photo for our Gilmerino project and we decided the mountains was the place to go. We drove up to Sugarloaf mountain, found a good spot, stopped the car and immediately saw a freakin moose like 50ft from us. It was crazy! She was so calm and peaceful. She saw us but since we didn't seem to be a threat to her she mostly ignored us. She ate some of the trees and eventually just lay down. It was really cool to see. Moose are somewhat rare and fairly elusive in Colorado.

Since the purpose of this mini-adventure was to get pictures of Courtney for our project she is in a lot of this blog. She is beautiful enough to fill the whole blog anyways.

The picture below is the one we ended up picking for the project. We loved the picture plus it showed the size of her belly the best. She is so pretty right?

We picked the last photo as the one for the project because it showed her belly, but the set below is actually my favorite. The scene and the lighting was so perfect for pictures. The first picture below is one of my favorites of Courtney I have ever taken. She looks so peaceful and happy.

On the way back we took what I thought was a shortcut back to the main road. It ended up being one of the toughest Jeep trails I have ever done. It was super fun but pretty scary. I don't have too many pictures of it because I was just trying to safely get back. We did it though. The Commander did way better than I would have ever expected. It really is a beast off road.
